| Just bought a used but recent model Danelectro 12 with the maple neck/headstock. I am told the material within the outer top and bottom plastic is masonite!?!. Regardless: does anyone know a luthier that could make a swampash body to replace the plastic/masonite (all the parts appear to just screw on to the body anyway). Apart from that, how are the top and bottom plastic covers attached to the main interior bodyshell (glue, etc....??); could I have the plastic pieces removed and have a maple top and bottom attached like Gibson attaches the maple tops to its mahogany LP bodies?
Regardless, the Dano 12 is one hell of a bargain. | |
